Serious Games Interactive (SGI)
is a research-based SME based in Copenhagen, Denmark started in 2006, currently with 18 employees that provide all the necessary skills to make a high-quality serious game. The staff includes programmers, animators, 2D artists, 3D artists, educational experts and game designers and work in close collaboration with subject experts on all projects, carrying out thorough assessment and research to ensure that educational games work both in theory and practice. SGI have over the years released a number of award-winning titles in the Global Conflicts-series, an immersive fully 3D role-playing simulation, that deals with global issues for example human rights, conflict resolution, democracy, corruption, racism. The series has been extremely well received by the press, featured on CNN and BBC, and is receiving much interest from teachers and students. It is. SGI have also released the award-winning Playing History-series where you travel back in history to learn about the events in an interactive way. SGI have in total finished more than 50 serious games projects, including work for clients. The clients include World Bank, Lego, Unicef, Danish National Museum, Danida, Amnesty Interactive and Novo Nordisk. SGI is currently involved in several national and European research projects ad in a network of excellence around game-based learning especially with focus on emerging game technologies in this area. SGI leads the activities behind the C2Learn game development process.
